The physicians who participate in the Psychiatric Oncology Center are psychiatrists who work closely with patients and families that often are facing the loss experiences brought about by cancer. They are active members of the multidisciplinary cancer teams and they see patients with all types of cancer.

The psychiatrists focus on the patients'  mood, anxiety, and clear thinking as they receive cancer treatment. They may adjust medications, clarify medical and psychological aspects, and suggest treatments.

The Cancer-related Fatigue Clinic offers medical and non-medical treatments of fatigue caused by cancer. Fatigue is the most common symptom experienced by individuals with cancer and the symptom with the largest impact on daily functioning. The Clinic provides comprehensive evaluations and treatment for adults. As part of the evaluation, the doctor will examine you and provide or refer you to the following:

  • medications
  • exercise programs
  • energy conservation techniques
  • individual counseling
  • support groups and/or workshops
